‘Rishta wahi, soch nayi’ (Old relationship, new thought). Along with this promise, Star Plus also unveiled a new logo switching over from the traditional blue to a ruby star. Uday Shankar, CEO, Star Plus, made this announcement at a star-less conference on Friday.
Speaking on the occasion, Uday Shankar, CEO, Star Plus, said, “I’m pleased to announce the brand refresh for our flagship channel Star Plus. This is the first time in the history of television brands in India that an attempt to refresh has been made with such depth of detail, permeating to the core of its business.”
“India has always been a land of new thought, which had perhaps been forgotten in our preoccupation with development, and Star Plus aims to revive convention through its refreshed brand promise of ‘rishta wahi, soch nayi’. We are committed to entertaining our viewers with content that propels them in a new direction and setting the agenda for entertainment on Hindi GECs.”
That’s not all, the channel also showed a glimpse of two of it’s upcoming shows, ‘Master Chef India’ and ‘Chaand Chhupa Baadal Mein’. The former is a cookery reality show that will be hosted by Akshay Kumar while the latter is producer Rajan Shahi’s latest offering to the channel after ‘Bidaai ‘and ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’.
When asked whether through ‘Master Chef India’, the channel will be competing with Priyanka Chopra (‘Fear Factor’), Shankar replied, “Priyanka is just an individual, and we aren’t here to compete with individuals. Our emphasis is on producing good and entertaining shows for the viewers.”
