Mani Ratnam's Raavan Starrer Abhishek and Aishwarya Earns 530 million

Despite the mixed response of Mani Ratnam's multi-lingual film ‘Raavan’, it earned Rs 530 million according to an opening weekend box-office figures by its co-producer Reliance Big Pictures.

At the end of the day, it is the business of the film that matters more. The Tamil version 'Raavanan' did good business around Rs 110 million while Telugu version 'Villain' earned Rs. 40 million.

Though film reviews of Hindi 'Raavan' were not good but the performances of Bachchan couple did like a magic and collected Rs 380 million at the box-office. However, the mixed response of the film did a good business but the movie was not up to mark than expected.

According to Industry trackers, the film Raavan failed in multiplexes with an occupancy between 20 to 30 per cent only. Whereas the occupancy was better in certain big city plexes in Mumbai as compared to the smaller centre plexes and single-screen theatres.
