It starts off with Pratigya walking into her room. She tries to start a
conversation with Krishna by talking about Kesar di's sudden bout of
dizziness and says that it's a good thing that she is alright
now.Krishna seems to be least bothered about what she's saying. She
slowly asks him why he didn't come to the mandir since he did go out
anyway and due to this her fast and wish didn't get fulfilled.Krishna
snaps at her and tells her off rudely that he already told her that he
wouldn't be coming with her to the mandir. She says that by talking like
this he is hurting her thoughts and love for him.He sarcastically tells
her that she's behaving like as if she's the only one who understands
what love is and that she should stop putting up an act and asks her
wheather she doesn't feel disgusted at herself for lieing like this coz
almost everything which she says is a lie.She says that her love for him
isn't a lie and that she isn't putting up any sort of an act.He gets
really irritated and tells her that only a cheap woman like her could
lie so much and that she should be greatful to him for letting her even
stay with him and in the house and he storms out of the room while she
smiles and tries to shrug it off despite feeling so hurt.
Komal is removing all her jewellery while she looks at Adarsh who is
asleep. She goes and sits on the bed and asks him if he's feeling sleepy
to which he says yes.She tells him that he never talks to her.So Adarsh
gets up and asks her to start the convorsation. She asks him to tell her
about his likes and dislikes. He asks her why she wants to know this all
of a sudden to which she says that it is important for their
relationship. She asks him what he thinks of girls in modern clothes
since she dislikes the fashion and trend which they follow now a
days.Adarsh says that a person cannot be judged by the clothes they wear
and it all depends on their personal choice, then he asks her to go to
sleep. She thinks to herself that Adarsh is saying all this because he
likes girls in modern clothes. She lies down and again wakes him up by
asking whether he watches English films. He says yes and asks her to go
to sleep without questioning him any further since he has to get up
early to go to work.
Pratigya is resting on the sofa when Krishna walks in.He asks her
whether she is sleeping and she says no sleepily since she seems to be a
bit worn out.He asks her whether she has eaten anything to which she
says no again. He walks out of the room. She wonders what he's upto and
tries to rest again. After some time he comes back with a plate full of
food and some side dish.He asks her to eat since she hasn't eaten
anything since morning because she wasn't able to break her fast. She
feels touched by his sudden concern and is about to eat when he stops
her.He pours the side dish onto the rice and asks her to eat.She takes
the spoon and is about to eat when he stops her again. She is a little
confused. He takes out a tin full of chilli powder and pours almost half
of it onto the rice and mixes it.He asks her to eat it while she looks
at him in shock. He asks her to stop looking at him and eat the food. She
thinks to herself that she is willing to do anything he wants her to if
it will make him happy and starts eating it.While tears are streaming
down her face he looks at her amazed and is perplexed since she is
eating it.
Arushi is making something in the kitchen when suddenly someone puts a
hand over her mouth and shoves her into a dark room and locks the
door. It's Shakti who pushed her into some store room.He comes towards
her and clings onto her hands and says that she hasn't even spoken to
him properly. She asks him to let go of her to which he says he can't.She
suddenly smiles at him and flirtatiously asks him to leave her hand
while he also smiles and hugs her from the back and keeps praising her
beauty by saying that she has a body like that of a forest full of
silver and that all the roses are drenched from the beautiful fragrance
of her hair while she looks all shy.Suddenly they show Shakti playing
with Kesar di's hair.He was dreaming and when Kesar di asks him what
happened he gets annoyed and tells her that she doesn't even let him
dream properly and tries to get back to sleep.
Next day they show Adarsh and Shyamji getting ready to leave for work
when Komal goes upto Adarsh and asks him to give her some money. He gives
her a little but she says that it won't do and that she needs Rs.3000
for some shopping. He asks her why she needs so much money to which she
says that she won't waste it and is doing it all for him.Nainaji and
Shyamji prompt him to give her the money since she'll know how to spend
it carefully so Adarsh gives her the required amount.
Pratigya walks into the room while Krishna is asleep. She wakes him up
lovingly and asks him to drink his tea,get ready and come for breakfast
and asks him to do all this soon since he has to have his medicines as
well.He keeps looking at her since he is a bit surprised. She tells him
that since he likes sweets a lot she'll make besan ka halwa for him and
asks him if he'd like anything else.Since he doesn't answer she walks
off with a smile while he keeps looking at her in a confused manner
since he's amazed to see that she's being so sweet to him despite what
he did the previous night.
Precap:Pratigya and Arushi are doing some work(most probabaly crushing
chillies).Arushi tells Pratigya that since SS and Amma are coming back
soon she plans to leave and go back home the next day.Shakti who was
getting a shave turns upon hearing this and gets cut.He looks at the
blood which is coming out due to the cut angrily while Pratigya,Arushi
and Kesar di are surprised.

Komal of Pratigya - Exclusive Interview - I was harrased by Eve Teasers
It is always a cake-walk for an actor if they are able to draw
similarities between his reel and real life, but what if the character
is completely dissimilar to your personality? Ask Komal as she has the
answer to it.
The girl did face trouble enacting her character as she was not even remotely close to it in real life but she learned it gradually. Now a pro at her job, she can easily improvise and come up with her own lines. She talks about her journey, the success she has earned through her debut show and how people are unable to recognise her owing to her gaudy on-screen make-up, in real life.
Neha Maheshwri spoke to Komal on her personal and professional life and the child in the lady did all the talking.

Komal is tomboyish and a little rough around the edges, quite in contrast to your character name. How is Parvati in real life?
Both Komal and Parvati are as different as chalk and cheese. Komal is rude, unethical and ill -mannered whereas Parvati is completely the opposite. Komal is very loud in her appearance and wears gaudy make-up and ties her hair in two plaits. She always wears saris. In real life I am quite unlike her. I love to keep my hair open and wear comfortable pair of denims and top. Talking about our character names, everyone has been christened with a name which is sometimes in contrast to their deeds and actions. My on-screen father is named as Sajjan Singh, which means a humble and generous man but he is nothing like it on the show. My brother is named after Lord Krishna, but his deeds are nothing like that of a God.
How can you, being a girl, be biased towards the fairer sex? You are in consent with your father’s ideology which suggests that women should be treated like a door mat? Will your way of thinking undergo a change?
Personally, like any other normal girl, I too am against the idea of a male-dominant society. Women today are equally talented and intelligent. They are at par with men at every walk of life. There is nothing a woman can’t do that a man can. As far as Komal is concerned, she has nothing to do with her father’s ideology and still nurtures a kid inside her. She has been brought up in an atmosphere where women are treated badly. They are beaten up and abused openly. I have grown up watching the men of my family do all this, so I don't know any better. I have got married into a completely different and more cultured family unlike mine. Life post my marriage is in complete contrast to my life before and I am adjusting with the new family.
Born and brought up in Mumbai, how difficult was it for you to pick the accent and north Indian dialect?
I am a Punjabi and I had this thick Punjabi accent during the initial days of my career. I used to rehearse my lines in north Indian dialect but mixed it with thick Punjabi accent. But I have picked up the north Indian accent really well and now I can make lines on my own without referring to the script.
Tell us a little bit about yourself and your background?
My father is a retired air-force personnel. He took a voluntary retirement as he wanted to settle down in Mumbai for my studies. He was working with Zee TV and is now with Ad labs working with Manmohan Shetty, who is also the co-producer of the show Partigya.
Is there any pressure on you to excel on the show considering that your father is a part of the production unit of Pratigya?
He has nothing to do with the production aspect of the company. My father is the legal head of the company and manages the finance and legal aspects.
What are your other interests apart from acting?
I love singing and dancing. I am a trained singer and have been pursuing vocal since I was seven years old. My mother is a classical singer and I have learned singing from her. I am also a trained Bharatnatyam dancer. I also go for animation classes and I am currently in my second year of graduation.
What are you passionate about the most – singing, dancing or acting?
Ah! That’s a tough call. I enjoy singing and dancing but acting remains to be my passion. I too as a kid used to wear make-up and act in front of the mirror. Like they say, give a girl make-up, a comb and nice dress to wear but take away the mirror from her and she would probably die.
As an actor do you stick to scripts or improvise? How spontaneous are you as an actor?
Sticking to scripts and following it word to word is always difficult. Also when you mug up your line and just blurt it out, it ends up looking lifeless.
How do you rate yourself on a scale of 10?
It wouldn’t be wise to judge myself but going by the reaction and responses I have been receiving, I would give myself an eight on 10.
How much do you credit Pratigya for your success and fame?
This is my debut show and I have already bagged an award in a span of just six months for the most popular negative actress.
Do you really think your character is negative on the show?
Not really. But comparing myself with decent and grounded Saxena’s, I am rude and ill-behaved which looks negative on the show.
How does your family react whenever they see you on-screen in your gaudy and loud avatar?
Well, my parents didn’t know that I will be hurling abuses on the show. The very first shot had me say – aye saala. My parents were taken by shock but they know that it’s just a character and I will have to do whatever is required to make it look authentic.
You have been against your sister-in-law Pratigya and have never really liked her. Why do you think she is wrong?
Honestly, I am not against her. It’s just that I have been married to her brother in bargain as my brother Krishna fell in love with Pratigya and wanted to marry her at any cost. Without my consent he gives his word to Adarsh and I am married off to him which is something I couldn’t take kindly to.
Since you are doing a show that throws light on the issue of eve-teasing and illiteracy. How do you assert the importance of education and safety of girls for the growth of our country and society?
I strongly feel that education is important for the overall growth of the society and country. An educated female results in a healthy and educated family tree. As she knows the pros and cons of every step she takes. Talking about safety, Mumbai is safer than any other part of the country. The show is the mirror image of what really takes place in the cow-belt region. There are two contradicting families on the show and the audience is sensible enough to know, which family to support and stand for.
Have you even been a victim to eve-teasing?
I remember colouring my hair golden when I was in standard 11th. I was just crossing the street and there were a couple of guys who passed lewd comments at me. If that’s what is it, then I have been eve-teased. I couldn’t pick up a fight with them as I was all alone and it could have resulted in an ugly situation for me.
Who is your favourite co-actor from the show?
My on-screen Thakur family is my favourite. I love shooting with them as they indulge in having fun. Saxena family keeps crying on-screen all the time, so it’s always a little serious business shooting with them (laughs).
How do you guys unwind yourself?
Best part is that the camera never stops rolling and when it does we go back to our make-up rooms to catch up with our sleep. That’s how we unwind off camera.
What kind of response do you get when you visit public places?
Primarily, they don’t recognise me as I don’t look similar to my on-screen image. I am very subtle and sober off-screen. If they happen to recognise me, they praise me for my style of delivering the dialogues especially ‘aye saala’.
How does it feel to be a part of Comedy Circus?
Oh! It’s been an amazing experience for me. Participating in a show of this format helps boost your confidence and morale. You are adjudicated by two people who are laughing at your jokes and judging you. You goof up while delivering your lines and the whole act falls flat.
It is generally believed that daily soap actors aren’t really fit to do stand – up comedy barring a few. Your comment.
I totally disagree with this. In fact, I have reached the finale of the show which validates the fact that daily soap artists can make a decent stand-up comedian and hopefully, I will go on to win the show.
Lastly, what’s your relationship status?
I am single. Have you heard of any link-ups?
The girl did face trouble enacting her character as she was not even remotely close to it in real life but she learned it gradually. Now a pro at her job, she can easily improvise and come up with her own lines. Pratigya Harrased by Eve Teasers at Night
Pratigya, the protagonist of the show, who has been a victim of
eve-teasing on the show doesn’t take it lying low. She fights against it
and makes sure that the culprits repent their wrong-doing. But
Pratigya’s valour and confidence isn’t limited to just on-screen. In
real life too she stands tall against the miscreants. Pratigya slapped a
guy today morning on her way back home from the shoot. Reason the guys
eve-teased her and passed lewd comments at her.
Says Pratigya, ‘’After shooting the entire night, I was returning home. I was hungry so thought of dropping by a popular vada pav chain and munch on a vada pav. There is a college nearby and so the place was crowded with college students. They recognised me and started discussing the show and my character. I was overwhelmed to receive rave reviews for the show from them. But there was a group of three guys who were standing at a distance of 10 feet from the stall. They too recognised me but what irked me was their lewd and filthy comments directed towards me. One of them said that I looked 'like an item in real life too' to which other responded saying that 'Krishna must be having fun shooting with me'. Their comments were vulgar enough to instigate any girl for summoning them. I went up to them and slapped one of them hard across his face. But this didn’t deter them a wee-bit as the other guy said something again. I argued with them about their bawdy behaviour towards girls.’’
‘’I was later told by the girls standing near the stall that those boys have been troubling them too and have been passing vulgar comments at them too. They have been eve-teasing them all this while. I was aghast to know that till date nobody had gathered the courage to stand up to these road-side romeos and as if they were waiting for me to teach these guys a lesson," adds the girl.
Apparently, Pratigya has never ever faced an ugly situation of being teased by guys till now. And this was the first time she was at the receiving end of it. The girl says that she was shaking after the incident for a while but was later calmed down by her mother. ‘’Anger was building up inside me even after I had slapped the guy. I was taken aback by their audacity. I was shaking after the incident and was a little nervous. My parents are proud of me but my mother got a little tensed. She was worried as she felt that this might malign my image as a celebrity. I am still getting flashes of the incident that took place a couple of hours ago,’’ quips Pratigya.
Pratigya feels that girls should stand up for themselves and fight against such miscreants. Pratigya feels that a brave act put up by the girls can help the society get rid of such problems. Says she, ‘’I wish the girls who had been victimised by these boys had taught them a lesson before I landed in the tight spot. I would like them to stand up for themselves against all these social demons,’’ signs off Pratigya.
Pratigya clearly understands her responsibilty and practices what she preaches on screen. Hope we too take a leaf out of her diary.

Pooja Gor aka Pratigya is Brave
The 19 year, young girl Pooja Gor who has now become a household name through her strong and vigilant role of Pratigya through Star Plus well-liked show Mann Ki Aawaz Pratigya; today early morning had to stand by her character to fight back against some local eve teasers.
Behind every preacher follows a sound which says 'Charity begins at home'. But to do so even the preacher has to have the guts and confidence which our juvenile lady Pooja Gaur did portray early this morning.
Reciting the incident Pooja said, "It was early in the morning post my shoot when I was headed towards my house I just thought of having a quick vada pav bite from a nearby stall; and I was happily gathering some admiration and appreciation from the religious followers of the show."
"Amidst which some eve teasers standing at a distance of 10-15 steps started passing rude comments about my on screen chemistry with Krishna aka Aarhaan Behll and even approached me using slang like 'Item'; that just pissed me off so in a complete furious and hot head mood I moved towards them and warned them. But when they didn't stop remarking me with vulgar talks I just slapped one of the guys who was abusing me verbally", adds Pooja.
When asked how did the offender retaliate back she asserted, "In complete anger I did slap him but then after some seconds a frightful shiver did pass through my nerves but luckily he just walked off."
On inquiring the reaction of the onlookers present at the location she said, "As it was early in the morning there weren't much people around but after the scene some girls came up to me saying that these guys tease all the girls everyday but no one had the guts to fight against them. To which in a very humble tone I made them understand that if you follow my serial so religiously then why don't you understand the message it's trying to send across, fight for your rights?"
When asked about her final retrospect about the whole incident she smiling said, "I firstly would like to thank my producer Pearl Grey for help me sink in the character so much. Today I can proudly say I live my role and though it sounded like a self promotion of my serial Pratigya but it surely was for a good cause" and she signed off.
Hats off to Pooja Gor's bravery!
