Rudest Man On TV Raghu Ram Says “Roadies is a 24X7 thankless job".

Raghu Ram has grown weary of his popular brainchild MTV Roadies. Currently in its eighth season, the show has withered away the producer and co-host into half, literally. “Roadies is a 24X7 thankless job. It’s just so tiring,” says a visibly fatigued Ram, who has lost oodles of weight.

“There’s just no time. I’ve been working non-stop. Now I’m going to sit for editing and I’ll lose more weight,” adds the 39-year-old, who also has, to his credit, big screen duds like Jhootha Hi Sahi and Tees Maar Khan.

However, he is quick to claim back authority over Roadies. “But it’s my baby and I’ll do it because if I don’t, no one else will. It always has been and will always be my priority,” says Ram. “So once this gets over, I'll start eating properly and regain my fuller self. And yes I'll sleep a lot,” he adds sipping Scotch out of a glass.

What does he have to say about his ‘rudest man on TV’ tag courtesy his rhetorics on the show? “I’m not mean. I’m just myself,” he replies while flipping away his cigarette in the air.

MTV Roadies Returns - MTV Roadies 8 in China

China and India don’t have the best diplomatic relations with the two countries speaking in different voices when it comes to the border issues. However, MTV is laying down the road map for peace by staging Roadies 8 in China. That’s not all; viewers will be trilled to know that their favorite Raghu Ram will be returning to MTV, and importantly, Roadies.

A reliable source informs, “It’s now confirmed that Raghu will be there for Roadies 8. He’s even shot for a promo that announces his return to MTV. The channel will air this promo in a week. Surprisingly, MTV has chosen China as the host nation. The show is expected to come on air in September.”

Raghu didn’t reply to our text message.

Raghu had stunned all last year when he didn’t appear for Roadies 7. The man, who is credited for changing the face of MTV, briefly switched loyalties to rival Channel [V]. Besides, Raghu and his twin brother Rajiv were chosen to play the bad guys in Farah Khan’s Tees Maar Khan.

With him back at Roadies, expect the dragon to spit fire in China.

MTV Roadies is totally pre-planned - Palak

I don’t want to take names but MTV Roadies is totally pre-planned. Their show is tweaked on the basis of TRPs. And whichever participant they believe can help them garner more TRPs is pushed ahead in the show, irrespective of their true caliber...this is not ‘reality’ television.

In fact, I was told by someone that participants were made to sign a contract according to which, if they revealed the goings on in the show, they would have to pay a penalty of Rs 10 lakhs. Even I was asked to sign an agreement but thankfully I refused. At the time, I wasn’t aware of this clause.

They got me back as a wild card entry on the show after I got eliminated and then started accusing me of bringing down their TRPs. If that was the case, why did they bring me back at all, and why didn’t they let me go the second time when I was close to elimination? Instead, a strong contender like Sufi was sent out.

It was all a game, smartly played by the producers. First, they made me an aggressive character on the show and then told me that people hate me. Even in the semi-finals, Kiri had decided to fight it out at the finals with me but, for close to an hour, Raghu, Ram and other members kept on abusing him and made him choose Nauman.

Even when I fainted on the show, their cameramen surrounded me and kept on recording me from different angles for close to five minutes before getting me medical attention. This is not it. What they showed on screen was also edited. They showed me get up, crying within seconds and then added bytes by other contestants, who blabbered about how I had put up a fake act. This is the level they can stoop to.

They don’t care about anyone. On purpose, they make incompatible, hot-headed people stay together to create some fireworks. They have cameramen following every participant and provoke us to say controversial things. Even the bike that was promised to me has still not been delivered to me.

I just want to tell every youngster out there, who dreams of becoming a Roadie, that it is an insensitive show. They only know how to exploit youngsters for money.
